BUSHFIRE SHUTTERS | BAL-FZ RATED ROLLER SHUTTERS

Bushfire-Rated Roller Shutters for Australian Homes

To help Australian homeowners prepare for increasingly severe bushfire seasons, BushfireShutter.com.au designs and manufactures 100% CSIRO-certified bushfire roller shutters tested to AS 1530.8.2 (2018) Flame Zone (BAL-FZ) standards. Engineered specifically for bushfire-prone regions, our shutters provide proven protection where it matters most — at your home’s most vulnerable openings.

Our BAL-FZ bushfire roller shutters are fully insulated to help block radiant heat and have been independently tested to withstand 30 minutes of direct flame contact, simulating real bushfire conditions and ember attack scenarios.

Protect Your Home from Bushfire Ember Attack and Radiant Heat

Manufactured using high-strength roll-formed stainless steel interlocking slats, our bushfire shutters are designed to shield windows and doors from airborne embers, extreme heat and flying debris generated during a bushfire front. This level of protection significantly reduces the risk of window failure — one of the leading causes of home loss in bushfires.

Reliable, quiet and built to last, our Australian-made bushfire shutters are installed with precision and delivered on time. When you choose BushfireShutter.com.au, you’re investing in certified protection, quality workmanship and long-term peace of mind for homes in high bushfire risk areas.

Australia’s recent bushfire history has shown just how devastating and unpredictable fire seasons can be.

With events such as the Black Summer fires of 2019–2020 across NSW, Victoria and South Australia which saw over 18 million hectares burnt and 2700 home destroyed, and major bushfires impacting Victoria, Tasmania, and regional communities like Tathra, Holsworthy, the Warrumbungles and Waroona–Yarloop over the past decade. These fires destroyed thousands of homes and highlighted the importance of proactive bushfire protection for properties in high-risk areas.

Bushfire-rated roller shutters provide a critical layer of defence by helping to shield windows and doors from radiant heat, ember attack and flying debris — some of the leading causes of home loss during bushfires. For homeowners living in bushfire-prone regions of Australia, installing compliant bushfire shutters is not just about meeting regulations, but about protecting lives, homes and peace of mind during increasingly severe fire seasons.
